On Giving Yourself Permission

Hey legend,

4 weeks ago, we Reflected On Your 2023

3 weeks ago, we Planned Out Your 2024

2 weeks ago, we Let Go Of What Wasn't Serving You

1 week ago, we Created Your Habit-Forming Group

And this week, I'm sharing the final piece of the puzzle to unlock and share the creative greatness that lies within you.

Be The Main Character Of Your Life.

I recently shared a spicy take on my Instagram Stories after being inspired by a conversation about how most people "live their life by default, not design".

Most people are more focused on the lives of:

  • Celebrities
  • Influencers
  • Athletes

...more than they are on themselves.

They put more of the spotlight in their life onto others while dimming down the brightness on themselves.

I reminded my community that playing small doesn't serve anyone.

Not yourself.

Not the world around you.

And not the people who are waiting to receive the creative gifts and messages that you have to share (but are keeping within).

"Watch Your Life Change"

Off the back of my IG Story series, Dylan (@learnwithdylan) kicked off a conversation with me about why people play as a "supporting character" in the lives of others.

The conclusion?

It's safe.

It's comfortable.

It keeps you away from judgement.

And then he dropped this nugget:

Give Yourself Permission To Play Big

Dylan's message reminded me of the impact of giving yourself permission to step into the higher version of yourself.

The version that radiates unapologetic, authentic and abundant energy that showcases the full spectrum of who you truly are.

It's powerful.

It's magnetic.

And it's liberating for others.

“Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate.

Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us.

We ask ourselves,

'Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous?'

Actually, who are you not to be?

You are a child of God.

Your playing small does not serve the world.

There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you.

We are all meant to shine, as children do.

We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us.

It's not just in some of us; it's in everyone.

And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same.

As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.”

Your Invitation To Play Bigger in 2024

My friend, we've just opened enrolments for the January 2024 Storyteller Sprint cohort.

If you're ready to (finally) give yourself permission to turn up the volume on your personal brand to scale your influence, impact & income...

...then you're invited to join our community of like-minded creators, solopreneurs & founders in our January 2024 cohort.

But note:

Spots for our January 2024 Storyteller Sprint are already filling up fast!

(And I haven't even started promoting it across my socials yet!)

Fortunately, we've got a limited number of spots left 🙌🏽

And because you're a member of this amazing newsletter community, I'm inviting you to join before I start sharing it across my socials.

You may be wondering if you're a good fit for the Storyteller Sprints.

So, I thought I'd let some of our alumni help you decide 🙏🏽

1. You're Creating Content Alone.

Michael Lim, like many in this community, was creating content without any support.

And it was burning him out.

"I didn't have a community, accountability or any support systems besides just myself.

I was trying to balance running a one-person business alongside, creating on Medium and writing consistently across the platform.

And the big thing is that
I was really burnt out. got to a point early in 2023 where I hit breaking point, and I knew I just couldn't do it alone anymore.

And I knew I had to find a community, a coach and people who had the same passion and values for life that I had

Storyteller Sprint Alumni

When Michael joined the Sprints in May 2023, he had a goal of reaching 10,000 Medium followers by the end of 2023 (he was on ~6k at the time).

Let's say he's gone "a little" beyond it...

"If you want to go fast, go alone.

But if you want to go far, go together.

And in the content creation space, you're in it for the long game.

You can't win this overnight.

You can't win this over one year.

If you're in this for the long-term, you need to find a community.

You need to find a team of people who are on the same goals, who value the same thing as join the Sprints"

2. You've Got A Bottleneck With Your Current Content Creation System

Aaron Barnes is a high-performance coach, as well as an experienced creator with a combined total of over +500k followers across IG & TikTok.

Because of the size of his following, he constantly put pressure on himself to maintain a high standard for his video edits.

The problem?

The time taken each week to edit his videos was becoming unsustainable and was taking away from his clients and limiting his ability to grow his business.

In his own words:

"I'd set a really high benchmark and expectation for myself of the kind of edits that I needed for my brand.

These involved me
spending five hours in a single edit"

- Aaron Barnes
Storyteller Sprint Alumni

For Aaron's Sprint, we created a content game plan that focused on experimenting with and doubling down on "effortless content formats" that were both enjoyable and a low-lift in terms of time and effort.

Here's what he had to share at the end of his Sprint

"I think the biggest (win) that impacted me was breaking through the limiting beliefs that I had around the expectation of content.

…being able to create effortlessly,
I was able to go from creating something that took me 5 hours to edit to something that would take now me 30 minutes

You’re gonna learn all of the different systems for you to be able to get to that next level.

You will be challenged to get yourself to that next level.

You'll be part of a community of people who wanna help you win"

3. Or You've Been Thinking About Joining The Sprints...For Months.

I get it.

You may be sitting on the fence and unsure if you're "ready" to join.

Antonie 'Ant' Ng felt the exact same way about joining the Sprints (for months) until he finally jumped into our November 2023 cohort.

Here's what he had to say at the end of his Sprint:

"Don't be like me.

Don't sit on the sidelines.

Don't sit on the fence.

Don't hang in the darkness watching Mamba's content and looking at all the incredible things that are happening in the Sprint for many months and not do anything about it.

Because the only thing I can say is I wish I started sooner.

Because of the access, the support and the level of inspiration you'll get in this community, it's unmatched."

So my friend, are you ready?

Will you let another month pass by where you keep telling yourself that you'll start showing up with content "sometime" in the future?

Or are you ready to finally commit to conquering your content creation amongst a like-minded community of creators, solopreneurs & founders, levelling up alongside you in 2024?

Count down to 2023-12-22T08:00:00.000Z

Pumped to level up your content creation together,

Mamba 🤳🏽

1 of 2 things are going to happen:

(1) The remaining spots are going to fill up; or

(2) Enrolments close @ 6pm AEST Friday 22 December.

So, if you're ready, here's your link to join us for January 2024 :)

See you there 👋🏽
